Why can't I connect to the ea server with Battlefield Bad Company 2?

Xbox 360. I go to multiplayer and then it goes to a box that says connecting, then it says connection failed. xbox live is working fine.Why can't I connect to the ea server with Battlefield Bad Company 2?
