Why wont battlefield 3 multiplayer work?
Just got battlefield 3. I read that servers were having promblems. I cannot play the mulitplayer and says no connection. I no i have connection cuz i can play co op. What is the problem.Why wont battlefield 3 multiplayer work?

Whenever i try to play online with battlefield two and i try to connect to a server it says cd-key is invalid.

There are 2 ways to fix this:
1.) go to the support folder for BF2. (C://destination blah blah/Battlefield 2/support) and find the CD-KEY icon. Click on this and re-enter your cd-key.
2.) Sometimes the 1st option doesn't work. In that case do this: Click on "start" and click on "run". Type in "regedit" and a window will pop up. You will have to click on a lot of icons before you reach the BF2 spot. I think it is something like HKEY_CURENT_USER or something (I believe it is HKLM\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc). Anyways, follow until you reach the Battlefield 2 folder. Click on "ergc" and modify the data. The top area will either be black or all messed up with random data. Delete this and enter "x9392YOURCDKEY" don't put in the dashes. This should help you.

Do i need a mouse to play battlefield 2 on my laptop?
i just baught battlefield 2 and installed it with no problems, but when i wanted to start playing none of the keys did anything except 'enter' and 'capslock' that moved the map and the mouse curser didnt even appear on the screen (this is after logging in, chosing server etc.). I was wondering if i need to go out and buy a mouse for it 2 work or am i missing something?Do i need a mouse to play battlefield 2 on my laptop?
You installed BF2 on your laptop? Can it support the minimum specs of the game? Cause the only laptops that can support this kind of games are those high-end once like Vigor and XPS laptops. In Battlefield 2142, I always get kicked out of the main server by Punkbuster, like 10 seconds after I join.?
How do I avoid this? the server had about 20 spaces open, but it is regecting me so I can "change sides", but I dont get to play at all... Is it because of my rank? Because I have never gone online before.

I searched my email and don't see a password, just a welcome email, so you should be safe entering a random email address or using a temp email service such as www.mailinator.com if you don't want them to have your real address. This happens to everyone...If your talking about console then you should turn it off and back on again (the console) and that does the trick (to me it does)... It just means that your internet isn't working properly..If your sitting right infront of your console its because your interfering with the wireless internet (If your internet is wireless)
Also if your downloading or another member in the house is downloading stuff on computers thats one of the main reason...as it uses bandwidth which makes it impossible to find a game online and will lag like crazy,flyff nada guides

Actually great deal of people are having the same issues. It's not the laggy connection or the fact that there are alot of people on ther servers. There are tons of issues of joining matches and your friends being on other teams and when you finally do get on the same team you can't hear eachother on the mics. The game has amazing graphics, movement and everything else. But this is a team based game. And all these issues were evident in the Beta testing. So why aren't they fixed yet and why would DICE let the most important aspect of the game be such garbage. I think everyone else that commented just doesn't play the game with friends yet. Look it up, it's a huge problem right now. And I'm not to impatient to wait for a patch. There is a reason Beta goes out ahead of time, to fix these bugs. So the game may be great is certain aspects, but it was completely ruined in others.
The game currently sucks bad. For me though I think you should not have returned your copy as it's still opening week. What I don't like about BF3 is it's integration with a browser. It's terrible. I load a game, but it loads a browser. Kinda ridiculous. The worst part is that sometimes it is unable to contact the server. Apparently, the addition of the browser as part of the game is so integral that you can't play offline. ******* annoying! Perhaps the biggest letdown of multiplayer for me is that there's no local BF3 server and I have to join a server outside the country where the lag is unbearable most of the time. But I'm still giving BF3 a chance, but this will be the last origin-only game I will buy. Origin is so useless!Who else returned Battlefield 3 b/c it sucked and server problems?
Lol...Battlefield 3 is a really good game, and the server problems might be because your internet is laggy. However, it is a matter of opinion, and I respect yours. I suggest getting renting Gears of War 3 until MW3 comes out because MW3 is supposed to be AMAZING.

Either wait for the updates or update your system, the connection problem probably isn't so much the game as it is your own laggy system connection.

I agree with the with you man. THE GRAPHICS ON XBOX ARE BULLSHIT. Installing the HD Graphics patch helps only a little bit. BC2 had WAY better graphics. I have top of the line everything and this is just a let down after all the hype. Graphics wise its not crisp at all, you would think this came out a few years ago. Damn shame because i love their different approach to the FPS.

Probably find the server ip from a site or something, and under "connect to ip", put that in there.
Or, uncheck the "ranked" option in the server browser and see if you can find any that way.

College student having issues connecting to game servers, specifically of the battlefield series. Ideas?
It seems obvious that it would be an issue the schools network settings or p2p blocking however most other games work fine, from battle.net to steam hosted and dedicated servers. Many others on campus have the same problem with this series. Anyone have an idea what to do about this? Sounds like you need to update. Right now 2142 is on version 1.40. Go to ea games or the bf2142 website and download the latest update. then you should be ok.

You need to be playing the latest version, which means installing 1.41 and then 1.50 patches. If you are playing v1.50 then you just need to wait for the stats server to catch up.

When I click 'Join Server' it takes about 10 seconds to search for one and brings up a message saying "Failed to join the game. Please check your network connection and try again.". One way I have found of solving things is to...
Join a Co-op campaign game to make sure you get a connection.
Play it for a while, then try an go back to a quick match.
If this fails, all you have to do is pick a server manually from the server browser.
You can adjust the filters accordingly to suit your needs.

You need to update to the latest version and play online on ranked servers to rank up and get awards, unlocks, etc.
The latest version is 1.50, but you need to install patch 1.41 first.

From what I can tell they are getting rid of the "padded servers". Apparently there have been a lot of cheaters....this is directly from the battlefield site:

Am I the only one that has lag problems with the Battlefield 3 beta?
Now I have an Asus G72X with 6GB of RAM intel Core 2 Duo processor and GeForce GTX 260M graphics card and i experience my gun and sight dissapearing, distorted sound, my teamates dissapeaaring, and slow to die when it states im dead. However this architecture DOES meet minimum spec...560 is a recommended spec not minimum
The gtx260m has been reported to be choppy by a number of benchmark testers despite fps remaining in the mid 25 ish. There might be an issue with this card as lcards with lower spec and less vram (the gtx260m has 1gb) have lower fps but are less choppy.

but aging laptops can't hack it with BF3:(
Fraid to say save your pennies and get a desktop...700$ self build will get a decent amd quad 965BE HD6870 build...good for 50-60fps on high in the betaAm I the only one that has lag problems with the Battlefield 3 beta?
You might click "Configure filters" or whatever and then have it list the servers, and try connecting to one close to you. I did that yesterday because I was experiencing horrible lag. I think I was playing on a server in Argentina, because everyone was speaking Spanish or Portugese... Anyway, I also have a GTX 260, and guess what - it does not meet the minimum requirements for the game. An ATX 560 is the MINIMUM card they recommend! So I am shopping around for a card, and have posted several questions this evening trying to decide on one.
So, far away servers, unsupported graphics card.. and the fact that it is a Beta... I'm sure the answer lies in there somewhere.

Make sure you download the beta drivers available from Nvidia. Due to it being a beta graphical glitches should be expected. Laptops do not run games as well as an actual desktop computer would so there will always be slightly more problems. The patch for PC in late november added support for unranked servers I believe, so hopefully the consoles will follow suit soon.
Unranked servers give you more control with how you want the server setup. For example, dogfighting only servers or practice servers. Ranked is for tryhards.

I get into a game just fine, it loads up, I get to either join a squad or do it later on, etc etc, I press X to go in, and when I get to pick my class all my weapons are the basic rank 1 weapons! Including the gadgets and specs! Im rank 22 right now, so going around with rank 1 weapons isnt fun. Also, at the end of games like this, my total score is added to a scoreboard that is in the minus. Like if I get 1000 points, when it goes to add my points up, the score board will be -1000 out of whatever needed to rank up, so I always end up on zero points earned!

Is it just me or does Battlefield 2 take a long time to load anything?
Well I bought the complete set for battlefield 2 and when I try to load a server or pick play now it take anywhere from 5-10 min just to load it the game. I know my computer can handle this game, it runs GTA:IV just fine but BF2 takes along time. Your ping is probably too high. Some servers have an auto kick for users with a high ping. So, as soon as your game loads completely you are kicked and returned to the menus.

Server connection problems with Battlefield 3?
I got the game today around 3pm and started to play. One trend that I started to notice was the fact that within 5 minutes of getting into a game, I would be kicked out of the server and it would say "EA Online lost connection" or something.
Trying to get into a multiplayer game also a hassle. Half the time it doesn't work and then when it does, it kicks you out (kind of like the beta).
Really kinda pissing me off. Especially after paying $60 on a highly anticipated game.

Nope, it's definitely not just you, i finished one game, then got kicked out after two minutes in the next, and now i can't access any EA information at all. Alright....heres the deal. My friend, Nick, has over 60 battlefield 2 (For the computer) servers on the list at once! If im lucky, i have 12. He told me to get a program called EA Link. So i got it. Doesnt do anything. Wait, i auctually got 1 more server from that. But its not auctually a program and it doesnt even show that EA link is on my computer. Ive looked and in my system it has it, but you cant acess it and there is no settings for it.
I wanted to know if there is ANY program i could get that would help me get more servers on my server list.

ok a few days ago it was fine, but just recently (like 2 or 3 days ago) i havnt been able to reconnect to the BC2 servers at all.....every time it pops up saying "joining game" it'll wait for 4 or 5 minutes and then say "you have been disconnected from the servers, please check network connection and try again"...

if you mean a LAN game then one computer must be the server. So that computer will click on Start Server in the "Join Local" tab. Or one computer is the dedicated server and you go to the C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/ folder and click on the server icon.

I downloaded a blood patch and now I get this error message when I try to go onto servers. I was trying to figure out what the problem was and discovered that I could play some servers. I am not sure yet if this is because of "punkbuster" or "pure" but I will try to figure that out and add details. That's the infamous EA servers for you. I am an avid bfbc2 player and I've run into that more than once. Usually you just need to give EA time to fix it. Sometimes all you have to do is restart your console. If nothing changes, I would say to go to EA's website and submit it to them.

What's wrong with my Battlefield 2142 servers?
I just installed Battlefield 2142 and when I go to multiplay, no servers show up. I read somewhere that you can download the 1.4 patch to fix this. I looked on the Battlefield website and I can't find where to download the patches so I went onto other sites and I've downloaded the patch twice. But the first one wouldn't install, and the second one did install but did nothing to help the problem.

All the Battlefield games work on Vista.
You need to install the latest patch which is 1.50 at the moment, 1.51 is due to be released next year.

Normally some servers should show up even without the patch, if they still don't after patching you may have to configure your firewall or router. Disabling your firewalls temporarily will let you know if this is the problem.
If you have problems with Vista, make sure your user account type is Administrator and turn off User Account Control. You will need to do this if you get Punkbuster problems.

All the Battlefield games work on Vista.
You need to install the latest patch which is 1.50 at the moment, 1.51 is due to be released next year.

Normally some servers should show up even without the patch, if they still don't after patching you may have to configure your firewall or router. Disabling your firewalls temporarily will let you know if this is the problem.
If you have problems with Vista, make sure your user account type is Administrator and turn off User Account Control. You will need to do this if you get Punkbuster problems.
You can also run the game in compatability mode for XP, by right clicking on the 2142 shortcut, select properties, compatability and tick the box, but you shouldn't need to do this.What's wrong with my Battlefield 2142 servers?

Is anyone else on Xbox 360 having trouble with the EA servers on Battlefield 3 beta?

The Battlefield 3 beta was reported by Dice to end at 7 am ET, or 4am PT. so it ended at the beginning of the morning! i had the same problem at 7:11 am. I recently bought Battlefield 2 for my pc, and my pc is beyond all the requirements. I installed the game without a problem, I made an account, and when I went to multiplayer there was only 1 server, I tried to refresh and update the servers and everything but I still only had one, here is the menu.

Yup, bfbc2 does not have the lag like black ops whenever it changes host. Homefront, from what i've heard, is a terrible rip-off of cod, you do pretty much the same stuff over and over again. If i were you, \i would wait for battlefield 3.

There's nothing you can do you fix it on your own, read the ticker on the bottom at the main menu, on the xbox it says there, that they are fixing the problem. Probably wait to play online or campaign until they fix it, because I lost all to most of my stuff i've achieved so far.

How come when I play online servers on Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I don't get any XP rewarded for killing etc. I see myself get XP during the game but when I leave the server to the main menu or quit the game and play later, it will be reset to 0. Hello, I've recently downloaded Origin and the Battlefield 3 Beta itself as well. When i click to play the game i get redirected to their website and i click Quick Match, then an error pops up and doesn't let me play. It says:
DirectX device creation error
Failed creating D3D device of at least version 10.0 on adapter "Intel(R) HD Graphics" with driver "Unknown". Error is DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED ("Unsupported.").
This is typically caused by not having the minimum required DirectX support in the GPU.
For Nvidia GPUs, DirectX 10.0 support is required.
For AMD and GPUs from other vendors, DirectX 10.1 support is required.

Every time I try to join a BF3 game on my PS3 it says "Failed to join game. please check you network connection and try again" but my connection is perfectly fine I went to the server browser and I found out I can only join Official [DICE] Servers. Ventrilo is voice communication software, it's no good for admining a server, other than reporting offenders.

If you are just after a voice program, you need to download the server version of ventrilo. Then use the IP of where you are running the program for others to join, you can choose to have a username and password if it needs one.
Not all BF1942 server owners have a vent server.

Battlefield 3 joining server problem (pc)?
Well my brother resonantly got BF3 and we are not able to join each others games, we can play on the same servers, but i cant join the servers hes playing on and he cant join my games.
i have limited edition while he only has the standard edition without B2K, but i make shure to only choose servers that plays standard BF3 maps, but we are still not able to join each others games.
the only thing i can think of that might be the problem is that Origin doesn't recognize BF3 standard edition as the same game as BF3 limited edition.
we both have our games up to date and we both have punkbuster installed, so i really cant see why im not able to use the "join game" button, when ever i want to join any of hes games its gray and i cant use it, so the only way we are able to play with each other is if we copy the name of the servers, but since my brother often use "quick match" we aren't able to see what the server name is.Battlefield 3 joining server problem (pc)?
If this happens, then refresh the Internet connection or wait for the server to work...

How do you choose servers in battlefield 1943?
I just bought battlefield 1943 a couple of weeks ago and I was wondering why can't I choose matches to play like in the pc version? Im asking this because whenever i went to exit a map because either I don't like the map or I don't wana play with and against certain players it always sends me back to

One of my friends texted me that he had this problem and he sounded pretty pissed. I would just have your Dad restart your router and if that doesn't fix it its the servers. If you don't have time to do that I would most likely have to say its the servers. Hope I helped!

ISomeone tell me a really good server for BF2. All the ones I've been to are uncoordinated, people don't organize right, and the commander doesn't issue orders. Not to mention it says 23/24 Unassigned.Battlefield 2, good server?

Why when i try entering a server in Battlefield it says something about the CD Key ?
Sometimes when i try entering a server, It enters and everything is cool.. Other times when i try to enter one, it says something about the CD Key.. What's wrong with it then ??

There could be a few reasons, but without the exact error message I can only guess what the problem might be.
If your cd key was invalid you would get kicked everytime, it's possible you have been banned from some servers, or maybe someone has a copy of your cd key and when they are online you can't play and vice versa.
You could try registering your game and cd key to your account, this should stop anyone else using it, but it will mean the game will be locked to your account and you wont be able to sell it when you are bored with it.
You can register the game by clicking on the register option in the start menu, or if it is not there you can find it in the support folder, default location Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\Support EReg

Join the MEC side of Backstab and spawn as the Engineer. WHen you see another Kit on the ground you HotSwap (y) while shooting. it will shut down the whole game. This works on some other maps too.
Issue is lately the servers have been few and far between so when some asshole does this many haven't been able to play the game.

the servers are still pretty active you should be able to find a match quick and i don't know what CS:S is so can't say about that.

I only have 1 bar to every server for battlefield 3 (Xbox 360)?
So ever since I got the game I haven't had a bad connection except for the occasional lag. Well yesterday I got on after work like I usually do, nothing has changed from my ordinary gaming routine.
However last night I noticed in the server browser menu that every server on the list only has a single bar of connection. Thinking that it was probably just a glitch so I joined a game. After a few minutes of playing I realized that it's about 3 seconds laggy, or when I shoot someone in the face they died 3 seconds later.
Anyway, I wouldn't know the first thing to do other than resetting the router/modem, I've tried that already it doesn't work. Perhaps there are some settings that I could change on the router I wouldn't know. I've looked around but I can't find anyone with this type of problem however if you know how to fix this problem it would be fantastic.
