I used to play on =GCHQ= and QBS, but I think they both run the mod desert combat (DC Final).
You need to install the 1.6 and 1.61b patch to play 1942 online.
You need DC 0.7 and DC_Final to play the desert combat mod.
There are also other good mods like Forgotten Hope.Battlefield 1942 - UK Server?
I play battlefield 1942. The online servers are still populated though iIhave no clue about UK servers. I live in Aus.
