Whenever I try to play on line with battlefield 2 online it says my CD key is invalid what should i do?

Whenever i try to play online with battlefield two and i try to connect to a server it says cd-key is invalid.

I have battlefield two deluxe edition, and i am using a hp pavilion laptop with windows vista if that helpsWhenever I try to play on line with battlefield 2 online it says my CD key is invalid what should i do?
There are 2 ways to fix this:



1.) go to the support folder for BF2. (C://destination blah blah/Battlefield 2/support) and find the CD-KEY icon. Click on this and re-enter your cd-key.



2.) Sometimes the 1st option doesn't work. In that case do this: Click on "start" and click on "run". Type in "regedit" and a window will pop up. You will have to click on a lot of icons before you reach the BF2 spot. I think it is something like HKEY_CURENT_USER or something (I believe it is HKLM\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc). Anyways, follow until you reach the Battlefield 2 folder. Click on "ergc" and modify the data. The top area will either be black or all messed up with random data. Delete this and enter "x9392YOURCDKEY" don't put in the dashes. This should help you.



I prefer the 2nd way it is more efficient despite the time it takes. I have had to do this multiple times so I know what I'm talking about.Whenever I try to play on line with battlefield 2 online it says my CD key is invalid what should i do?
if thekey is one you purchased with a new game contact the manufacturer and see what they say...... if it's a pirate disc or key then buying an original will probably solve theproblem
