if you mean a LAN game then one computer must be the server. So that computer will click on Start Server in the "Join Local" tab. Or one computer is the dedicated server and you go to the C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/ folder and click on the server icon.
You must also have a LAN root hub where all the network cables meet and connect with eachother.
