I cant connect to all Battlefield 1942 servers?

I can only connect to the ones that are high lighted in yellow. I cant connect to the gray ones. when I try to join the gray ones, it says for me to update it but when I update it, it still does the same thing. How can I join the gray servers ?I cant connect to all Battlefield 1942 servers?
